A Template Asset is a grouping of assets that are commonly used together. This might be the "Front of (a) Building which subsequently has a; Balconies, CCTV, Intercom, Key Reader, Front Door ...".
When creating a C-Site survey using this Template asset (rather than Single Asset) will save time and improve consistency.
Within Dwellant, you need to configure the Template asset
These are the Template Assets, which are just groups of Assets, hierarchically stored.
As you press on Large Block, you will get to see the first level of the hierarchy of the assets under it.
Select Front of Building to see the next level of assets within Front of Building. You can also note the path, which shows you at any point, which part of the hierarchy you are in.
In this case, we have reached the bottom of this path on the graph (illustration at the end).
As seen in the Adding Assets to Buildings guide, these assets (named Asset Types on the Dwellant interface) can be configured individually, with questions under various surveys. These will show up under Large Block, which only serves as a group of assets to be added all in one go to the building on C-Site.
For example, the Balconies asset (which is listed under the Front of Building, which, in turn, is under Large Block) contains questions under the Health & Safety survey.
On c-Site, the Health & Safety survey of the Building will now contain all the assets that are under the Large Block, at all levels down the hierarchy, which also have questions under to the Health & Safety survey.
Note that the Questions with Pinned Answers are also showing up, as expected, along the two specific ones for Health & Safety only, totalling 5.
Adding Template assets can be done via the Add button.
But bear in mind that the Type is the Asset Type illustrated in the previous guide. This is what defines the questions that will show up, and not the Name, which only serves as a label.
The type is Air Conditioning Unit, so navigating to the Asset Types to Air Conditioning Unit, we notice that it has questions for “Regular Property Manager Survey”.
On C-site, you will see the Test Asset under the Asset Configuration. This is one instance of the Asset, which we configured under Template Assets as a template to be carried over under every copy of the Large Block to a Building in C-Site. The instance generated under the selected building, where the Large Block Template Asset was added, with all the sub-assets of it.
But the Surveys will be populated with Questions according to the question of the Air Conditioning Unit Asset type. The questions include those with Pinned Answers, and they will be neatly placed under Test Asset, which serves as the label of the Asset itself, which we labelled under Template Assets.
