Dwellant has a very large userbase. This may mean that the user you are adding has an account either within your Managing Agent or another already. The system will treat the new record slightly differently if it is a duplicate.
Note: Dwellant uses the email address as a unique identifier. Think of it as your account's fingerprint on our software.
What happens when I add an email address for the second time.
1) After the email is added we will create a second temporary account. This will hold the data added to the new unit.
2) The data subject (owner of the email address) gets an email notifying them of the additional unit and asks if they would like to accept it.
- If they accept it the two accounts will be joined up
- if they reject it the "user manager" group will receive the notification and they can review the records.
Example
Record in Dwellant linked to the email address
A new record added for the second unit
Temporary new record - note the different name and ID
What the user sees when they log in (they need to pick one of the three options)
On your side, you will now see 2 units on the original record.
What the resident now see
