On your building’s homepage, you should see a button or link that says ‘Add Posting’. Clicking here will open a window with some details to fill out. Adding a posting is like writing an email, you will need to add a subject, some content and choose your recipients.
Postings must be added to a specific ‘Topic’. Think of a Topic as a file in a filing cabinet. Where is it most sensible to add some information so that it can be found again later? If you wish to change the names or add topics, please contact Dwellant.
Click the ‘Add Posting’ button, and then complete as follows:
- Choose a topic for your Posting
- Enter a subject – just like you would with an email
- Enter the content of your message.
- Choose the recipients of your
Organisation Recipients – You now have two groups you can filter when deciding your audience
You can select a Block + Group
For example if you click
Block A + Owners
It will only go to owners within Block A (previously it would have gone to Block A and All Owners)
When clicking on Change option . This should be considered before making your Posting.
When raising a posting, you may wish for residents to be able to respond or discuss the topic at hand.
In this case, under the Comments allowed setting, please ensure you have checked Yes.
Vice versa, to prevent users from being able to respond and discuss the topic of the posting, please check No.
The importance of your postings
Normal postings will be sent in regular email newsletters, depending on the resident’s email settings.
Important postings will be sent in an email the following morning and will appear on the site with a visual indicator that the Posting is Important.
Immediate postings will send out an email and SMS message immediately after the posting is submitted and should arrive in building member’s inboxes within minutes.
(Note: If the user adding the post is moderated, the messages are sent when the post is approved.)
Email and SMS services are subject to user preferences and availability of resident data. immediate Postings should be used sparingly and only when there is an Emergency, otherwise, their ‘importance’ will become insignificant.
Limitations/Points to note:
- If an Urgent posting is created in the Template building, recipients in all buildings will be messaged.
- Users who have switched off email and SMS preferences for emergency messages are not sent any messages.
- Users who have not signed-in are not messaged.
- If the audience is All Members, any users that are not members of this group will not be messaged (but they can receive urgent messages if other groups they are members of are selected and not the All Members group).
- Updating an urgent posting will not resend the Email and SMS.
